Bungus Bay Industrial activities Fisheries Tourism

commercial fishing harbour with approx. 18000 tons of fish landings worth 14 mill. US$, mainly tunas and makerels from longline and gillnet fishing (corresponding to 26% and 36% of the total landings and value for the province of West-Sumatra). Second largest Bagan fishing fleet and some small handicraft shipyards are located here. PT Rimbo Sinkyong, a medium-scale plywood factory and Pertamina, the state oil company are industrial users of the bay. Serveral losmen and coffeeshops (e.g. Carlos and Knokke Inn) operate a small scale local and international tourism with beach access and boat transfer to nearby islands.
