Pasir Kandang Fisheries

main landing site for Bagan fisheries (light-fishing with liftnets). Endless shelfs for sun-drying fish and several processing sites for Ikan Teri (small Anchovies). Important national export item, prices reach US$ 2/kg of dried Teri. In 1994 about 13000 tons with a total value of 5 million US$ were landed, corresponding to about 19% and 13% of the total catches and values for the Province of West-Sumatra.
