commercial harbour with approx. 2.2 Mill. GT/y turnover. Daily ferry services to the Mentawai Islands (see inset map), some 180 km to the west. Weekly ferry services to Sibolga and Jakarta. Second largest Bagan fishing fleet operates from here and the Bungus Bay. Recently also tapped by several foreign sailing yachts targeting Australian surfers for weekly adventure tours to the famous Mentawai surf.
